The big talk wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. Not nearly as scary either. I didn’t go into detail about the actual sex and actually from the questions she had I didn’t feel I needed to discuss intercourse at all. She is still my innocent little girl. She is mainly concerned about boys. Not in a sexual way but in a like way. We talked about all the changes she is going through and also puberty for boys a little. She mainly said ooh to most of it. I am so happy she knows that she can talk to me about anything. There will be many more of these kind of talks in the future and both of us will be ready for them. We had so much fun just being girls. Having one on one dates are definitely important for children. They need to know that alone they are special as well as in the family. Thanks for all the advice from my friends. I took it all to heart and it helped me so much.

I love Kennedy she is a beautiful girl! She takes after her mother! I love having her in achievement days. Well done mom!
She is gorgeous! She is going to melt many hearts.
Im glad it wasn't as bad as you thought.Itt sounds like you uys had a good time together.
I read your comments on the first Big Talk post and you did get some awesome advice! Glad it went so smoothly! I still have some questions about boys, too - can I come ask you? :-)
I was nodding my head the whole time I read your post because I coincidentally had a sex talk with Daelan today since 5th grade maturation is coming up soon. I was so happy to find out he is as innocent as I thought and was so comfortable talking to me about it. It was so much simpler than I imagined - none of the awkward detailed stuff is necessary yet, thank goodness!
You inspired me to brave these waters - I think it's important for the boys to be able to ask me stuff, too - not just J.R., but I never knew if it was appropriate or not. I think it's as appropriate as I make it! And to tell the truth, I think they are more comfortable with me on this topic. :-)
Do you do one-on-one dates often? I am terrible about this. Plus they don't seem to be very interested. I tried to take just Daelan out for ice cream as a reward for 100% on a test and he totally blew it off - every time I said let's go, he just wants to play with his friends. :-) Tween.
Way to go Trin! Now that you have the door opened don't ever close it. I wish I had a daughter sometimes, I think it would be easier to talk to a girl then my boys LOL.
She is such a beautiful girl, and you are a great Mom!!
I think you will do great with future talks with this subject. I agree with you about keeping the door open, because if they don't ask you they'll find someone else to ask and who knows what kind of answers they'll get!!
What a beauty she is. I am glad you can both take this step by step. At least you have established that place of trust. She knows who she can talk to now and that is so important.
Um??? Is that COLDSTONE?????????????
