I faced a fear!

I’ve overcome a fear. It may sound silly but I have known for most of my life (excluding early childhood) that art is not my forte. I was even scared to death to play Pictionary with friends and family. However, a few months ago I began taking an oil painting class with an amazing Teacher/Artist. I owe the success of my 1st oil painting to Cali Grimshaw. I chose to paint a sunset over the Ocean.

The most peaceful place I have been is in Hawaii sitting on the beach watching the sunset. This painting reminds me of those times. I never thought I could create a piece of art I was not scared to share with others. Thank you Cali for helping me face my fear of painting.

Navajo Lake

Bugs

We went to our cabin at Navajo Lake and lasted ONE night. We are not bug people. It's a beautiful place however bugs are not our idea of fun. From the pictures you can see that the kids were somewhat unaffected, however I had the car keys, so what I said ruled. Hopefully the bugs will burn out by August.

Grown up

"I'm a grown up!" That's what Rylee(5) announced today. "I can read, I can swim and I can ride a two wheeler." That apparently makes her a grown up. Great, if that's all it takes then my job is done.
